Dates Announced for Zimbabwe Agricultural Show 2024

Harare, 18 July 2024 - Dr. Andrew Matibiri, Chief Executive Officer of the Zimbabwe Agricultural Society, today announced the eagerly awaited dates for the 2024 edition of the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show.

The premier agricultural exhibition in the country will take place from Monday, 26 August to Saturday, 31 August 2024, at the Zimbabwe Agricultural Business Hub in Harare.

In his introductory remarks, Dr. Matibiri highlighted the significance of this event, which serves as a crucial platform to celebrate the achievements of Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector and to explore future challenges and opportunities.

"The Zimbabwe Agricultural Show is a key event on the national calendar, showcasing the talents, innovations, and resilience of our farmers, agribusinesses, and agricultural stakeholders. It underscores the crucial role agriculture plays in our economy and the livelihoods of the Zimbabwean people," he stated.

This year’s theme, "Cultivating Prosperity. Growing Business. Innovating for Change. Nurturing our Future," underscores the event's focus on driving growth, sustainability, and transformation within Zimbabwe's agricultural sector. Dr. Matibiri emphasized the theme’s alignment with the mission to highlight the industry's remarkable achievements and its future potential.

The show is expected to draw over 250,000 visitors from across Zimbabwe and the region. This diverse audience will include commercial farmers, small-scale producers, agro-processors, input suppliers, government officials, agricultural research institutions, and aspiring entrepreneurs. The event offers unparalleled opportunities for networking, knowledge-sharing, and forging invaluable connections within the industry.

Dr. Matibiri also announced that the show will feature more than 560 exhibitors, occupying over 78,224 square meters of exhibiting space. Currently, 282 local exhibitors and seven international exhibitors have confirmed their participation, taking up 58,483.96 square meters of space.

The Zimbabwe Agricultural Show 2024 will host a series of targeted business events, including conferences and networking sessions designed to foster meaningful discussions, potential partnerships, and innovative solutions addressing the evolving needs of the agricultural ecosystem. - Annual National Agribusiness Conference (ANAC): Wednesday, 28 August, 08:00-10:00, Andy Millar Hall
- Research for Agricultural Excellence Indaba: Thursday, 29 August, 08:00-10:00, Andy Millar Hall
- Environmental, Social, and Governance Conference: Thursday, 29 August, 07:30-09:00, Rainbow Towers
- Diplomatic Network Business Conference: Thursday, 29 August, 18:00-20:30, Andy Millar Hall

The official opening of the show is scheduled for Friday, 30 August 2024. Extensive arrangements are being made to ensure this high-profile event runs smoothly, with further announcements to follow.

The show will feature several key sections, including:

  • Agricultural Produce Section: Showcasing the best produce from winners of provincial shows.
  • Livestock Section: Featuring a wide array of livestock entries, with strict health and safety regulations due to Foot and Mouth Disease and January Disease.
  • Tobacco and Cotton Sections: Highlighting the importance of these crops in rural development and foreign currency generation.
  • Micro-Enterprise Section: Fostering future entrepreneurs with increased participation and support from the corporate world.

The Zimbabwe Agricultural Society is dedicated to ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all attendees. Motor vehicle movement within the Business Hub will be restricted during the show.

The 2024 Zimbabwe Agricultural Show promises a captivating line-up of arena events. The Glamis arena will feature live performances by renowned local artists, fireworks displays, parachute diving demonstrations, mass displays, and equestrian events.
